YAN or Adsense? Wedal's experience. Google Adsense VS Yandex Direct

Welcome, dear friends, to my blog about making money online. Every blogger thinks about monetizing their website. The most popular way is contextual advertising Yandex Direct or Google Adsense. This means that search engine robots monitor and scan all web pages on the network, determining keywords the meaning of the content is on them. After this, advertising blocks containing advertisements in text or graphic form are displayed. Naturally, if the webmaster places an advertising code on his website. The correspondence of advertisements to the meaning of the site content will be as accurate as possible if. After reading such an article, the visitor should not leave the page, but click on the advertising link. Each click on an ad block earns webmasters a percentage accrued by Yandex or Google.

Adsense advertising belongs to Google and is one of the most developed and popular contextual advertising systems in the world. Advertisers publish their ads through the AdWords service. This system supports the “link blocks” format, i.e. package of links without ads. However, it is worth considering that this block sometimes simply replaces the site navigation, and this is perceived quite negatively by visitors.

  • the blog must be hosted on paid hosting;
  • within a month, daily blog traffic should be at least 300 people;
  • the site must exist for more than 3 months.

From this we can conclude that advertising on Yandex is convenient for offline blogs with high traffic. It’s quite simple and doesn’t require knowledge, which I previously wrote about in other posts.

Let's look at the main differences between these services:

Moderation. Google does not have moderation or a traffic threshold. You don’t have to think about the benefits for visitors and the quality of the site; the focus is directly on making money. To place an advertisement in Yandex, you need to go through moderation and fulfill a lot of requirements. The application is submitted once a month.

Requirements for sites. The conditions put forward by the Yandex system are more stringent than those of Google, especially in terms of restrictions on the installation of advertising units per day. Google gives webmasters the opportunity to earn money starting from the day the site is created. Yandex requires popularity, quality and usefulness. You can add a site if it is created for people (SDL) and also has high traffic. Yandex does not allow placing more than 9 advertisements on a page, Google does not allow more than 3 advertising blocks.

Design of advertising blocks. In principle, this issue can be debated due to differences in tastes. The truth, as a rule, is somewhere in the middle. The look of text ads is more interesting in Yandex Direct, given the ability to edit them according to style, but Google Adsense has no equal in terms of graphics and multimedia ads. Advertising on Yandex allows you to tailor your context to the design you like, experimenting with the cost of a click and CTR. Adsense advertising contains ready-made templates ads that you can use.

Consumer Policy for Webmasters. Yandex pays amounts, starting from the ruble, in masses convenient ways (WebMoney// bank transfers, etc.). Google's minimum starts at $10. For Runet users, AdSense is not very profitable, since it is problematic to cash out amounts (via PayPal or a certain bank account), and interest is charged for this.

Number of advertisers. Direct has several times more advertisers than Adsense. Competition ensures greater earnings, which is why many webmasters strive to join the YAN. The cost per click in Yandex Direct is at a good level and depends on the location of advertising blocks and their subject matter. It is worth considering that Google may block an account due to clicking (unnecessary clicks). Then the money will be returned to the advertisers, and the account will be blocked along with everything that was there. If similar situation happens in YAN, it is not the account that is banned, but only a separate platform.

Support. Work with Yandex Direct is carried out through the COP. The service is high quality, consultations are possible on all issues. For example, Profit Partner responds even at night in just a couple of minutes. Google has support and a forum, but they are of little use.

Income. The income received from advertising is basically the same, however, Yandex Direct is still a priority. Actually, both networks work normally together, but this requires voluminous posts and a certain design that allows advertising not to take over the volume of most of the blog.

What are the statistics on clicks on advertisements?

The average number of clicks is 1-2 % . Thus, on 1000 pages viewed account for 10-20 presses on advertising windows. Cost per click brings to the webmaster 0,01-2 $ (on the Russian network) and 0,1-10 $ (outside the Russian segment). Sometimes rates exceed $100-200 per click. The cost depends on:

  • number of clicks on advertising in relation to the number of impressions;
  • subject of the article;
  • number of competitors in the topic.

There are commercial and non-commercial requests. An article optimized for the query “Which camera to buy” will contain commercial advertising units from photographic equipment sellers. The request “How to properly cook buckwheat porridge” will most likely be deprived of the attention of advertisers, and random cheap ads will appear on the page.

Contextual advertising Yandex Direct or Google Adsense is profitable as a way to earn money. It can also be used when idle banner spaces or demonstrating their availability to potential advertisers. By analyzing the profitability of topics, webmasters create properly optimized sites. In the process, they bring the maximum CTR and the most expensive clicks. I wrote about how to choose the right advertising company in a post, read the article and draw conclusions for yourself. Subscribe to the update to receive new blog releases in your email.

I would be grateful for pressing the buttons and reposting this material. See you in the next articles. I wish you all success and great prosperity.

Hi all! In today's article we will talk to you about how a blogger makes money in YAN (advertising network I'm indexa), namely making money from contextual advertising.

You probably noticed that I recently removed Google Adsense advertising from the blog and installed Yandex Direct. Why, why? I’m experimenting... I want to know what kind of advertising brings more money, Adsense or Direct. By the way, in the following articles I will conduct a mini review of the experiment, therefore.

So! First, a little introduction! Finally, I was accepted into the YAN, I submitted an application to add a site 5-6 times, they were constantly rejected... If I don’t submit an application, I receive an answer in 5-7 days:

I don’t know why they didn’t like my site (site), but in general, according to all the rules, it seems to fit. I read somewhere on some forum that if a response from the moderators does not come within 3-4 days, then most likely they did not consider it, it was considered by a robot. And the robot rejects the site in 95% of cases. These are the things... Well, that’s not the point... The main thing is that everything is fine now.

By the way, I note that I submitted my application not through the Yandex website itself, but through the Yandex Advertising Network Partner Service Center - Profit-Partner. The application is also reviewed by Yandex moderators, but here for some reason I was immediately accepted, which made me very happy.

Let's start with the most important things. Not all sites accept Profit-Partner; you can follow the conditions for participation. I will list the most basic conditions:

— attendance (per day) of more than 300 unique people (by the way, there were cases where they took less than 300).
— the site is located on paid hosting (blogspot, livejournal, mail, etc. do not work).
— the site’s audience is Russians and Ukrainians
— site age is at least 1 month

It’s easier in Google Adsesne, there’s at least 2.5 people a week in attendance and they’ll hire you without any problems, but here it’ll be more difficult.

It’s too early for me to talk about where to earn more money in adsense or direct, it takes time, as I said, I will publish a small mini review in the following articles. So far, about 300 rubles have come up in 3 days. Now I would like to tell you why I was interested in making money from Yandex contextual advertising and why it is better to register through the Profit-Partner CSP.

First, about why Yandex became interested. Look. If we take Google adsesne advertising, then in it (in advertising contextual blocks) ads corresponding to the theme of your site (blog) are displayed. That is, if you have a blog about cooking, then ads will be shown on culinary topics. I think you understand.

In Yandex, everything is a little different. Here, in contextual advertising blocks, ads are shown not only that correspond to the theme of the site (blog), but also those that will be of interest to the visitor of your resource. Now I will explain in more detail.

You are sitting at the monitor screen, you went to Google to find information about buying a Lada Kalina Universal car. Enter the phrase “where to buy Lada Kalina Universal” into Google or Yandex search and it will give you results (a list of sites with information).

At this moment, the data is entered into the browser cache. Next, for example, you go to another site, maybe even on a different topic, but it has Yandex contextual ads, and what could happen?

The Yandex script will take data from your browser's cache and display ads that match your search queries. You typed Lada Kalina Station Wagon in Google, so it will show you ads about Lada Kalina in some blocks. I think this is clear!

My grandfather wants to buy it here new Lada Kalina Universal, so the day before yesterday I spent a long time looking for the best place to buy it in St. Petersburg, the data was entered into the browser cache, now no matter what site I go to (where there is advertising from Yandex), I see ads about the Lada Kalina everywhere. That's how things are. I believe that Yandex has a big advantage over Google in this. More people will click on your ad.

I was also interested in Yandex because the appearance of contextual ads here is much more beautiful. Personally, I like the context of Yandex more than Google. And the ad settings themselves are more functional here...

1. Top-level support service. I asked a question about acceptance into the YAN, they answered me right away, and in such a friendly manner, plus on top of all this they gave free recommendations (sent by e-mail) on how to increase the chances of getting into the YAN and what to do if your website (blog) is not accepted. In general, well done guys, they work with a bang.

2. There is a bonus system. Nice done by the way. You earn money from Yandex advertising, you are awarded bonus points, and in the future these points can be exchanged for various goods and services.

For 625,000 points you can place your resource in the Yandex Catalog for free! How do you like this arrangement? Why do you need to add a website (blog) to YAK? Read here - "". Profit-Partner also hosts various interesting promotions!

3. Conclusion cash very comfortable. You don’t need to wait until you have $100, for example in Adsense; in YAN you can withdraw from 1 ruble. Payments are made automatically. You can withdraw to Yandex Money, WMR, WMZ, PayPal, ePassporte, Privat 24, bank transfer.

4. I don’t know whether this is true or not, but somewhere, again on the forums, I read that if Yandex code is installed on a website (blog), the resource will be indexed faster by Yandex itself. The code from gogole adsense is installed, then there will be fast indexing from Google. Don't know. I won’t confirm it, but if so, then good!

5. The most interesting thing. Profit-Partner has affiliate program. Attract new participants to the Profit-Partner CSC and receive 5% of your partners’ earnings. For every 1000 rubles your partners earn, you will receive 50 rubles. What if there are 100 partners?

There are also other possibilities, but I think I’ve listed the most basic ones. Now let's move on to placing and setting up context blocks. First of all, you will need to add your platform (website or blog) to the system; it will automatically be sent for moderation. After you add it and it is APPROVED BY THE MODERATORS, then you will need to get the ad script code, place it in the right place on your resource and then send the site again for moderation.

The second step will inform you that the code has been posted on your website (blog) and you can start counting ad clicks, impressions, CTR and everything else... You can place no more than 9 ad blocks on one page. Adsense has only three blocks.

So what else. Yes, that's it. In the Profit-Partner COP you can also earn money not only from contextual advertising, but also from placing a banner on your resource. Go to the site and click “For Bloggers” at the bottom. There is all the information about what and how. The scheme is simple, you negotiate the conditions for placing a banner from Profit-Partner on your blog, make an agreement, place the banner - you get money. Usually they pay monthly!

By the way, don’t think that if you have high traffic, that means you will be paid more. There may be more, but mostly the guys are interested in what phrases most visitors use to come to your blog from search engines.

Well, that's basically all for today. Although no, I didn’t say the most important thing until your blog has a permanent audience and good traffic, don't think about making money from advertising- kill your blog!

If we make the initial conclusion that Google adsense or Yandex Direct is better, then I still give preference to Direct, of course. We'll see later!

What kind of contextual advertising do you place on your resources? Adsense, Direct, maybe Begun? I will be glad to hear answers in the comments. By the way, what do you think about YAN, and especially about Profit-Partner? Is this a good company or not?

I'm finishing the post. All the best to you. Finally, an interesting video. Just laughing...

P.S. How do you like the article? I advise you not to miss information about new free video courses and blog competitions!

Best regards, Alexander Borisov

Hello again, dear readers! We are in touch with you - Andrey and Dasha, authors of Thebizfromscratch. A little earlier, we told you that we began to slowly monetize our blog by advertising from Google Adsense. And then, of course, it arose for us new topics for the article: Contextual advertising from Google Adsense or Yandex Direct, which is more profitable and better. Let's compare together and draw conclusions.

Cooperation with Google Adsense

To start making money on your own website using Adsense, you need to go through two-stage moderation, which may take more than 1 week. Surprisingly, the owner of a resource with low traffic and any age can apply for cooperation. As soon as all stages of moderation are completed, you will definitely receive an email and access to your personal account will open, where you can set up ads and place them on the site. You can read more about this entire process in the article:.

Of course, we recommend developing the resource first: filling it with high-quality content, waiting for it to be at least six months old, and achieving traffic of at least 70 people per day. Otherwise, it simply doesn’t make sense to monetize such a project; no one will click on the ads.

Why do we like this service?

Firstly, a convenient and intuitive interface in personal account. At any time, you can view statistics on clicks, income and transfers. Everything is very clear.

Thirdly, the cost of clicks. The minimum price is 6 cents, and the maximum can reach several tens of dollars! Unfortunately, we personally didn’t have such high-paying clicks... our ceiling is still $1.5.

What's annoying...

First of all, I want to scold the support service! If any questions arise, it is impossible to reach her. It’s more effective to go to the official forum and communicate with guys who have similar problems.

Also, the payment process is a little annoying. First you need to save up $10 and order a personal PIN code, which may take several months or not arrive at all! Then earn 100 bucks and order the payment itself. Previously, payments were made through special checks, which could only be cashed in banks. Now the process has been simplified a little, because... You can withdraw money using your Rapid wallet and transfer money from it wherever it is convenient for you.

Cooperation with Yandex Direct

Some webmasters believe that it is better to use another system for work - Yandex Direct. And they think this way because:

Firstly, fast and adequate withdrawal of earned funds. Not only is there no fuss with PIN codes and withdrawals are immediately made to Yandex.money or a bank account, but also the minimum threshold is half that of Adsense - 3,000 rubles instead of 100 dollars ($100 ~ 6,000 rubles) .

Secondly, Direct has a good support service that will always help.

Thirdly, you can earn more here, since the cost per click is higher and, if you believe the statistics, the click-through rate is advertisements from Yandex is higher than from Google.

But not everything is as glorious as it seems at first glance! To start collaborating with Yandex Direct, you must undergo very strict moderation. Only well-promoted sites with a unique design, filled with content and with traffic of 500 people per day can pass it, and even then with great difficulty!

So which is better: Contextual advertising from Google Adsense or Yandex Direct? Look, if you are just starting out in blogging, then simply no one will allow you to place ads from Direct, which means your option is Adsense. If you are the owner of an already promoted project with high and stable traffic, try applying for advertising from Yandex. By the way, many people practice advertising from two services at once. In any case, you can earn money using any system, as long as you have an active audience and an interesting website.

Well, friends, let me end this. We wish you a good rest, because today is Friday, the end of the working week... Take care of yourself and don’t relax too much :)

And so the question arose for me: where more earnings— in Yandex Direct or Google Adsense?

The best theme for Wordpress: video review...

I decided to see what the average cost per click is in both affiliate programs. (Read about other types of earnings in this article)

I’ll say right away that the cost per click is usually higher for ads that are located at the beginning of the article and much lower for those that are somewhere below. I have one block at the top and one at the bottom, not counting Yandex advertising inside articles.

Where do you make more money, Yandex or Google?

Top block, average cost per click:

Yandex - 2.44 rubles
Google - 6.4 rubles

Bottom block, average cost per click:

Yandex - 1.68
Google - 3.8 rubles

The subject is computer or something like that. As you can see, Google pays twice as much. And what does this mean? This means that you need to place Adsense ads in the most advantageous places, and leave Yandex Direct only in the article as links - Google advertising It doesn't look like a link.

These are the pies, you need to experiment, otherwise you won’t achieve good conversion.

A year or even two passed, and I decided to check again, what generates more income, Adsense or YAN? In the article I placed the blocks side by side and now I’ll see what happened. The experiment was not long, but everything will be clear. So:

Adsense: 22 clicks, income $0.71 (cool! and this is for 4850 impressions!)

YAN: 20 clicks, 50 rubles ($0.62)

That was yesterday, but what about today?

Adsense today is 50 cents, YAN is 34 rubles, which is again less.

The conclusion is simple: Adsense is more profitable than YAN, at least on my site - and why is everyone so eager to get there?

Didn't find the answer? Use the site search

What is more profitable to place on a website: Yandex.Direct or Google AdSense? This question is asked by all webmasters who plan to monetize their website traffic with contextual advertising. But no one can definitely answer it - this can only be done for a specific site, alternately placing one or another advertising blocks on it and tracking statistics. It is precisely this experiment that I want to write about today.

But, before moving on to the results of my mini experiment, I want to make an announcement. The author of the blog wlad2.ru Vlad interviewed me. This is my first interview, so don't judge too harshly. Well, now to our sheep.

So, there is one site that has been operating for a long time and was accepted last Tuesday. AdSense, by the way, needs to be removed before adding to YAN - this will significantly increase the chances of your site being accepted there. The site’s traffic barely reaches the minimum required by the Direct rules, but the topic is apparently why it was accepted (average daily by week):

Before this in AdSense:

When adding the site to YAN, I placed ad blocks in approximately the same way as AdSense was placed before, but the CTR was strikingly different. I started thinking about what was the matter and realized: in YAN, CTR is calculated for each ad. That is, you placed two blocks of 5 ads, when you opened the page you already had 10 impressions (discussion on the server). And in AdSense, with the same opening, there is one impression. On my site there were two blocks of four ads and one block with one ad. That is, in order to compare CTR, you need to divide the impressions in YAN by 9 and recalculate the CTR. Then we get the following picture (old impressions, CTR recalculated):

(data slightly different from the screenshot - more recent statistics)

And yesterday, having not yet figured out CTR, I decided to somehow increase it, and replaced the ad block above the content with a vertical one, with a large font and 5 ads. CTR immediately went up, but a few hours later I received this email:

How do they do this?! Do they monitor the CTR and if it starts to rise sharply, do they look at the site manually?? In general, we had to reduce the font and limit the number of ads in a block to 4. Naturally, after these actions, the CTR decreased again. Okay, I think that's enough theory, let's calculate what happened:

AdSense:

  • Income for seven days: $14.61 or 453 rubles.
  • Average CTR: 4.06%
  • Average cost per click: $0.20 or 6.2 rubles.

YAN:

  • Income for less than eight days: 459 rub.
  • Average CTR: 8.98%
  • Average cost per click: 3.44 rubles.

What happens? That both systems are at the moment, are equally beneficial for this site. The AdSense ads on my site have twice the CTR, but the cost per click is twice as high.

Now I plan to combine the two systems contextual advertising on the site: since the cost of a click in AdSense is higher, I will place its block in the most clickable place - in front of the content. The remaining two places will have advertisements from. This method will allow you to increase the cost per click in both systems - after all, only the most expensive ads will be shown (fewer ads from each system per page view = more competition for impressions = higher cost per click). I ask readers to vote on whether to publish the next report on this small experiment on the blog (the vote is not visible in the RSS, you need to go to the website).
